USS Mercury

“Why are we fighting? We’re Starfleet. We’re explorers, not soldiers.” — Ensign Danby Connor, Operations Officer – U.S.S. Shenzhou

Not for a hundred years have the brave men and women of Starfleet experienced the horrors of war. It has raged on now for over six months, and the Federation is holding the line thanks to the heroic efforts of the U.S.S. Discovery and her crew. Whilst Discovery has taken much of the burden of war on its shoulders, the remainder of the fleet stands alongside her to defend the Federation and its people from Klingon aggression.

One such vessel is the U.S.S. Mercury, a newly christened Cardenas-class starship commanded by Captain Vin lek Sholorn. In an effort to maximize the Mercury’s potential, Sholorn has assembled a diverse group of individuals to join him on his mission, including some fourth year cadets from Starfleet Academy. With the best people available under his command, Sholorn knows that the Mercury will do its part in the conflict with the Klingons so that Starfleet can return to its primary mission of exploration.

Every war has its heroes. This one isn’t any different. Join the Mercury today and be a part of this historic time period. The stories told here will speak of the Human condition and how Starfleet and the Federation overcame insurmountable odds to bring a brutal enemy to heel.

Captain Gabriel Lorca said it best — “Don’t you want to help end the war?”

The Quest
started May 2, 2019 and ended October 31, 2019

The U.S.S. Discovery has gone missing. As a result, the tide of war has changed. Hope of defeating the enemy is fading as the Federation loses more and more territory. Starfleet Command has ordered all starships near the warfront to regroup in the Arachnid Nebula. As Starfleet recovers following the battle, the Mercury encounters a spatial anomaly that sends the crew to the Game Master; a being of immense power who gives them a quest with a promise of a grand opportunity for the victors.

Fire In The Sky
started January 15, 2019 and ended April 30, 2019

Whilst patrolling the trade route between Aldebaran and Kantare, the Mercury receives a distress call from the colony in the Castor System which has come under attack by House Antaak of the Klingon Empire.

The Tardigrade Conundrum
started July 1, 2018 and ended January 15, 2019

The U.S.S. Discovery, equipped with the only spore hub drive in all of Starfleet, has been single-handedly keeping the Klingons at bay. Starfleet Command wants to equip more starships with this experimental technology, but for it to properly function they require a large number of tardigrade navigators. Following its shakedown cruise, the U.S.S. Mercury is sent to the last known location of Discovery’s sister ship, the U.S.S. Glenn, to try and solve the riddle of the tardigrade conundrum.
