Memory Theta

Visit Site

Memory Theta is a planetary installation and support orbital station with full automation to allow for minimal staffing. Protected by regenerating ablative armor and multiphasic shielding along with a subspace dampening field as security features, Memory Theta is as well protected as any starbase and extremely difficult to locate. Through contacts in Starfleet Intelligence, reports from Command, civilian authorities such as the Vulcan V’Shar, and even black market traders willing to sell dangerous technology to the Theta library, Memory Theta monitors and collects potentially hazardous technology, artifacts, and discoveries.

The Greek letter Theta was used as an ancient symbol for death or danger. As the repository for technologies, artifacts, and knowledge deemed too dangerous for public awareness or even storage elsewhere, Memory Theta embodies the ancient legacy inherent to its name. Due to its highly classified contents and location, the facility and its staff have been given a quasi-mythical status among even the highest echelons of Starfleet. Previous administrators have resigned from the post due to workplace stress and psychological strain. Retrieval missions are not for the faint of heart, having garnered an unofficial reputation of terror in the Starfleet grapevine. Whenever a Theta team shows up, it often means some type of horror is on the horizon.

Memory Theta originally began as a temporary holding facility for objects and technology that defied standard Starfleet storage protocols. The facility eventually developed into a secure and unofficial black site upon the completion of the planet-side deep storage installation and its support satellite station which was given the nickname Tartarus. Shifting borders and powers in the Alpha Quadrant have resulted in the recent attachment of a small Defiant class vessel to support Memory Theta’s mandate and ensure its defense.

Manifest

Captain Mrazak
Commanding Officer

Mrazak is a V'tosh Ka'tur, or Vulcan Without Logic. His refusal to undergo kolinahr and adhere to the ancestral Vulcan teachings have left him something of an outcast to his people. Free to embrace his passions, Mrazak has a lust for life that is rivaled only by his zeal for discovery. His generalist approach to scientific research has garnered him a well-rounded understanding of most major fields of study. Rather than keep his heretical status a secret, Mrazak freely tells one and all that he is his own Vulcan. As the Chief Science Officer of the ultra-classified Memory Theta installation and commander of its acquisition team, he is not often in a position to embarrass the Vulcan people.

Staff Sergeant Roderik Kos
Lead Tactical-Security Specialist

With a fairly slender build, most people wouldn't assume the muscular stature under Rodi's clothing. He is well-toned, a result of regular exercise and his period with the Marine Corps. His hair is fairly long, it looking like a well-sculpted mess. Secretly is just a mess.

Commander Akiva ben-Avram
Facility Administrator

Akiva ("Kiv" to his close friends and family) is relatively tall and lithe for most Hebron colonialists. His dark Semitic features complement his melancholy demeanor. A career of hands-on work has kept him in peak physical form.
He has recently become a new father of a sort with the development of a "next-gen" synthetic android through bioneural circuitry and cutting-edge molecular cybernetics. Biynah, as he named her, has become like a daughter to him.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Jaya Maera
Psychology and Psionics Specialist

Jaya is tall and willowy for a Deltan, but still smaller than the average human female. Her dark eyes and supple features stand in stark contrast to her bald scalp. She carries the typical Deltan dry wit beneath a nuanced veneer of aloof sensuality. After fleeing an awkward suitor on the USS Renown. Jaya is more reserved than ever. Her duties as counselor are among the only personal contact she allows herself.
Although not as telepathic as Vulcans and Betazoids, Jaya shares in the empathic extrasensory perception inherent to her race. She swore the Oath of Celibacy like all Deltans in Starfleet, which makes her feel it necessary to place walls between herself and others lest she lead them into infatuation. Despite the ability to share the feelings of others, Jaya often feels alone.

Lieutenant Colonel Storr Garlake
Station Commandant

Storr is a sparkplug with features easily belying his Dutch Afrikaner heritage: Thick, broad shoulders; a square face and jaw; and a sinewy frame. He keeps his full beard closely trimmed and wears his hair in the stereotypical Marine high-and-tight (though usually longer on the top). Storr always endeavors to have his uniform crip, boots shined and be well groomed, as he feels his outward appearance is the first (and oftentimes only) impression one is able to give of their inward professionalism.

Lieutenant Commander Garai Fenia PhD
Forensic Science Specialist

The way she acts, moves and speaks, one would brand Fenia as a typical bajoran. Passionate, stubborn, argumentative with a big heart and desire to protect those dearest to her while fighting the bad guy. She will speak her mind, often without preamble and restraint though she’s been seemingly lucky so far that she hadn’t gotten into too much trouble for it.

Garai is despite that a hard worker and a loyal officer if she believes in the cause and the orders. If she does not, she will make attempts to rectify the situation and will stand her ground to the point of being thrown in the brig if needed. As a crime scene investigation specialist, she has a love for hands on research, clue collection and profiling.
