Lieutenant Will Morgan

Will Morgan served aboard the USS Lexington during the Dominion War, signing on as Chief Operations Officer. There he served on board until the end of the war itself working alongside Chief Petty Officer Andrea Carter and under Captain Mitchell Hanson. After the war, Will served on board the USS Valkyrie where he spent the next ten years exploring the Beta Quadrant and then the Gamma Quadrant. After his time on the Valkyrie, Will then transferred to the USS Katana as Assistant Chief Operations Officer , once gain working with the now promoted Master Chief Petty Officer Carter. However the Katana was soon lost after she launched, believed lost into a parallel universe, unable to return...

Personal History:

Will was a gifted child at school and graduated in each of his classes with excellent grades. He was a natural at everything having the talent and drive when needed to perform. He left all the schools he went to with honours. Will’s course was always one set for the stars and he knew that to get there he would have to do his best.

After School and his education, Will had decided the career he wanted before he was given an option to choose. To join Starfleet. While his parents served on the USS Alabama, Will went to live with his Uncle Hank in England at his Repair Facility and spent time working there on everything from vehicles to small ships, to small garden implements. After a while of working there and still dreaming of the stars, Will went on to learn about Starships and Engineering, showing the knack of wanting to know how it worked and if it worked how it could work better. with permission from his parents, Will applied for Starfleet Academy in 2365 and was accepted.

However at the end of his first year he received some very tragic news. His parents were Officers on board the USS Alabama and she was one of 39 ships that were destroyed or severely damaged in the battle of Wolf 359 in 2366. Will took the toll of their loss hard. This now made him more determined than ever to do his best and succeed in becoming a Starfleet Officer and graduating from Starfleet Academy.

Service Record:

Will performed well at the academy and showed promise early on in his first year, despite the loss of his parents. He also showed his interest in Starship/Starbase Operations and he chose both Operations and Engineering as his courses to pursue. His tutors were impressed by his knowledge and speed of learning when it came to learning about new and current starship classes, how they worked and also how their Engineering and Operations took place. When it came to Will choosing his path, he was recommended that his talents would be best served on board a starship

Once Graduating from Starfleet Academy in 2370, Will was commissioned an Ensign and given the choice of the Fleet, so he picked an Operations post on board the Excelsior Class USS Juno. He spent 3 years on board serving as a deputy to Lieutenant Michael Mason. During his first year, Will learnt about Engineering procedures on board, serving first as Engineers Mate and then as a Warp Engine Specialist whilst the Juno toured on patrol in the Badlands. Will was an involved young officer on board as the ship was involved in several skirmishes with Maquis raiders and he often found himself using original solutions to repairs on the starship which gained him recognition. He was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.

During the second and third years of his assignment, he spent time in the Operations Department, during which time his CO noticed an urge in Will to drive forward and climb the career ladder but also to explore the stars and learn more. During the Juno’s tour on patrol in the Badlands, hostilities broke out between the Federation and the Klingon Empire and the Excelsior Class Starship found itself involved in several battles with Klingon Bird of Prey along the Bajoran Border. However a hard battle with a Vor’cha class battlecruiser left the ship in a bad state.

The Juno managed to limp out of the Badlands to DS9 and after repairs, was ordered back to Earth Station McKinley for a refit and upgrade programme. After the completed upgrade on board the starship, The Juno was called into action at the Battle of Sector 001 when a Borg Cube attacked Earth. Will stayed on board and hoped that the upgraded starship would live up to her good name and show the Cube a good hiding. During the battle, he employed every imaginative way possible he learned, having to man the Operations position when Lt. Tomar was injured by an exploding console. However due to the heavy damage sustained on board, the Juno was towed back to Solomon Bay Fleet Yards for further repairs and upgrades.

Whilst at Solomon Bay Fleet Yard, war broke out with the Dominion and Will found out of positions available on the USS Lexington and decided that his talents would be served well on board the ship in repairs of the ships systems as well as applying for the position of Chief Operations Officer.

Will therefore applied and was granted the position and promoted to Lieutenant, where he worked alongside his Assistant Chief Petty Officer Andrea Carter where he assisted her in repairs to the ship after the Borg attack before leaving for Starbase 375. Will was hesitant to working with Carter at first due to her assimilation and rescue from the Borg and this brought back the raw memories of his parents death, however they soon learnt to get along and worked well together.

The Lexington found itself on the front lines taking part in battles such as Operation Return and the first Chin’toka campaign; facing off against the Jem’Hadar and the Cardassians many times. The Lexington also took part in the final battle in Cardassian territory and despite taking heavy damage, the ship survived and was put in for a refit and eventually mothballed at Solomon Bay Fleet Yards.

With the war at an end and Starfleet looking to return to peaceful exploration, Will learned of positions available on the Ambassador Class USS Valkyrie, that was assigned to explore the Gamma Quadrant and felt certain his talents would be served well on board the ship in both Engineering and Operations, so he transferred. Along with this new assignment Will was promoted to Lieutenant and became an assistant department head.

Will served aboard the Valkyrie for six years exploring the Gamma Quadrant and charting many star systems and civilisations. During this six year assignment Will was assigned the position of Assistant Chief Engineering Officer where he learnt to calm down from his “wartime” self and found the exploration assignment allowed him to find an inner calm and learn to enjoy exploration and discovery again.

The Valkyrie was recalled after suffering extensive damage during a battle inside a Nebula with a Mogwai Class Romulan Warbird. The battle itself was due to a claim on the region made by the Romulans who were looking to setup a secret base in the area with the Valkyrie stumbling across this sitiation whilst charting the region.

Once the starship returned to the Alpha Quadrant, she was put into drydock for a refit. The Valkyrie was upgraded during the refit which took place over twelve months. In that time, Will was promoted to Chief Engineering Officer, flexing his Engineering muscles. Will spent the next four years of his career on board the Valkyrie which was tasked with further exploration of the Gamma Quadrant, following on from the work taken by the Valkyrie’s first mission to further chart the region.

Whilst enroute to Tysoe V, the ship encountered a Borg Cube which attacked the Valkyrie and assimilated the crew, except for Will, whom the Borg Queen kept alive for study. Starfleet Intelligence has officially classified this two year period in Will’s file, where officially he is MIA. However he retains a full memory of the time spent with the Borg and the Borg Queen, something that he will not speak of easily.

After being rescued by the USS Madison from the surface of Mohindra III, Will spent the next two years, serving at Starfleet Operations on Earth and going through extensive therapy, counselling and debriefing during that time. Eventually Will was declared fit for duty on board a starship again and when the Assistant Chief Operations Officer position became available on the USS Katana, Will applied.
